Janousek

Rowed 12k with Hung last night. Long havent been using the Janousek 2x. I would say this boat is simplier in design, comparing with Filippi, narrower, but it is strong. The feeling of driving is more rigid than on Wudi but less than Filippi. The momentum of the boat at the release is more or less the same as Wudi, but much less than Filippi. It is felt a bit rock at the release.

Last night training

For lastnight 's training, several things can be pointed out.
1. For those old guys did gym before the training, they were no need to do the circuit training. Then the circuit training can be speeded up.

2. How to solve the problem of lacking of ergometers?

3. About briefing the old guys on ergo training:
- give them a target: max+ 3, but the target should be over under 2:00 first.
- remind them the importance of technique, it's not to exhaust themselves out, but to use the
power effectively to keep the fan running.
- tell them : the running of the fan = the running of the boat. How to keep the fan (boat) runs
smoothly is what we need.

Scheduling

I 'd like to know the exact date of the National University Rowing Championship, such that I can plan the training.

Aim

Hope that I can give my thoughts on rowing and sculling here. Also, I 'd post the links of some valuable messages in the newsgroup here.

Hopd that I can continue to do this for a long long time.

I hope and I think I am able to row till at least 40!

Btw, when do we need to start training the 8+ for the National Competition?
